This award is given in honor of Pam Crellin, a dedicated dressage coach and competitor in the NT. She was a strong competitor with a deep passion for raising the standard of dressage in the region. The award celebrates that same passion and rewards riders who have committed themselves and their horses to achieving Medium level dressage or higher. To qualify, riders must compete in at least five Medium level tests, with the highest percentage scores used to determine the winner of the Pam Crellin Award.

In memory of Kiana Blue Murder, honoring dedication and commitment to proper training for the longevity of horses in sport, with a focus on their welfare. Kiana Blue Murder (Moochie) was a small stock horse owned by Madina Hayman from the age of 11. Together, they advanced from preparatory tests to Advanced level, coached by Pam Crellin and Di Jenkyn. They competed successfully at the Royal Darwin Show and Katherine Show for many years, winning Supreme Rider and Hack titles. Moochie’s training was so well-rounded that when Madina went to university, he became a schoolmaster for other members of her family.

In recognition of proper training and long-term goals in sports for up and coming riders, Jodi made a significant impact on the NT equestrian scene over the years. She was an exceptional competitor, starting out with Pam Crellin as her coach and mentor, competing on Pam’s horse Oatie as well as her own horses. She achieved great success with her stock horse, Perivale Darken (Tom), and the mare she bred, De Amore (Violet). Jodi also served as a judge and supported the club in that role for many years. She was always a supportive competitor, encouraging younger and new riders even when competing against them. Her passion was helping riders develop strong foundations so they could advance to higher levels of dressage.
