Membership
The home of Darwin Dressage Club is Freds Pass Sport and Recreation Reserve, located approximately 35km south of Darwin.
In addition to local judges, DDC is host to some of Australia’s highly sought after Dressage Judges visiting from all states across the nation. DDC caters for all levels of competition from Prep to FEI tests.
DDC offers a number of different membership options to suit all Territory dressage enthusiasts:
Senior – $119
For competitive riders aged 18 years and over. Access to all DDC events and benefits.
Junior – $95
For competitive riders aged under 18 as at 1 January. Access to all DDC events and benefits.
Family – $150
For up to two adults and any non-working dependants. Access to all DDC events and benefits.
Non-Competitive – $50
For riders who wish to participate in training/practice days, protocol days and clinics, excluding events/ competitions run by DDC.
Social – $10
For supporters who wish only to participate in workshops, seminars and social events run by DDC.
IMPORTANT MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION – MEMBER DUTY ROSTER
When becoming a new member or renewing your membership with the DDC you agreed to abide by all club policies, guidelines, protocols and procedures in addition to Equestrian Australia rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Membership also comes with the responsibility to help with the running of the year’s events. Helping at events is a compulsory aspect of being a member of DDC. Please nominate on at least 2 events for which you are available to help on the day of the competition. Please note if you hold a Family Membership each family member (regardless of age) is expected to be placed on the duty roster.
Every attempt will be made to accommodate your preference of duties, however at times it may not be possible to accommodate. DDC reserves the right to place you on the duty roster as they best see fit to run the events.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
WRITER
As a writer (aka penciller) you will be required to sit with an allocated judge and scribe the judge’s comments and marks on an electronic tablet.
MEDICAL OFFICER
As a Medical Officer you will be required to supply a copy of your current Working With Children Check (Ochre Card) along with current First Aid and CPR. In addition to undertaking first aid duties, you will be required to assess riders for concussion in accordance with the Equestrian Australian Concussion Protocols. Mandatory reporting of accidents/injuries along with concussions will be required.
MORNING TEA/LUNCH
You will be required to set out morning tea for judges and writers, make tea/coffee, clean up and pick up lunch from Coolalinga.
ARENA CONSTRUCTION
Practice Days and Clinics: If you nominate to participate in a Practice Day and/or Clinic it will be compulsory for you to attend either an arena set up or pack up. This is in addition to your compulsory member duty.
Please note failure to comply with your membership requirements (nominating for a minimum of 2 events) will result in your entries being rejected until such time you have selected your member duty events.
Failure to present for your member duty obligations will result in rejection of any entries until you have met your obligation. Please note it is not compulsory for you to physically fill your member duty position if you are unable to. But it is compulsory for you to find a replacement to undertake your duties. The replacement volunteer does not have to be a DDC member.
Note: Some dates of these events are subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to maintain the closest date to your request as possible and notify you of the change.
